Comuna 13 is known for its graffiti, street art, and walking tours — but there’s a lot more to this neighborhood than pretty murals and photo ops.

It wasn’t that long ago that Medellín, Colombia was considered to be the most dangerous city in the world! — where drug lords lived large and ordinary people disappeared overnight. Tourists didn’t dare set foot here and many locals avoided the area too. But over the last few years it has undergone a huge transformation and it’s now a very different story!

This area is no longer known for gang violence, police raids, cartels and illegal trafficking. When you walk through Comuna 13 today each colorful mural tells a story, honoring the community and what they overcame. There’s walking tours, cafes, and street art performances like breakdancing and rap battles.🎤🎶

A war zone turned into a booming tourist attraction. Definitely a must see in Medellín!⭐️
